The University of Montenegro has taken a bold step towards international scientific and technological cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Supercomputing Centre in Jinan, a leading research institution in the People’s Republic of China.
The Memorandum was officially signed by the Rector of the University of Montenegro, Prof. Dr. Vladimir Božović, and Yuli Wang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Center, in the presence of leading researchers Prof. Dr. Nevena Mijajlović from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and Prof. Dr. Shujiang Xu, representing the Chinese Centre.
“This memorandum opens the door to strategic cooperation in fields shaping the future of digital security and technology — from cryptographic protocols and artificial intelligence to blockchain and joint research platforms. Our goal is knowledge exchange, development of innovative solutions, and building strong ties between the academic communities of Montenegro and China,” emphasized Rector Božović.
Cooperation Focus: From Cryptography to Blockchain
According to the Memorandum, cooperation will include:
- development and testing of cryptographic protocols and security systems,
- optimization of artificial intelligence in real-world conditions,
- design of integrated hardware-software architectures for cybersecurity,
- application of blockchain technology for collaborative AI model training while preserving data privacy,
- establishing platforms for simulation and verification of cryptographic algorithms in security-challenging scenarios.
A New Era of Global Collaboration
Following the signing, the Chinese delegation held a working meeting with the University of Montenegro leadership. Discussions focused on concrete initiatives such as researcher exchanges, joint participation in international projects, development of educational programs, and the creation of innovation centres.
