On 11 and 12 September 2025, AI2MED partners met in Naples, Italy, for a dynamic project meeting hosted by the University of Naples Federico II. The two-day event brought together universities, research organisations, incubators, and healthcare experts from across Europe to review progress, share insights, and plan the next phases of the project.
Ideas, Innovation, and Collaboration
The sessions were designed not only to monitor ongoing activities, but also to encourage creativity and strengthen collaboration. The programme opened with a stimulating icebreaker that encouraged open dialogue and new perspectives. Partners then reflected on the project’s progress and achievements to date to ensure AI2MED continues to deliver meaningful results.
One of the highlights was the first presentation of the Incubation Lab, which focuses on stakeholder engagement and innovation. During an interactive Innovation Lab Design Jam, the partners explored how to make AI in medicine more accessible and relevant to healthcare professionals and communities. This was followed by the Stakeholder Safari, a session that looked at strategies to reach and engage different groups, from medical students and professionals to policy makers and the public.
Another important discussion centred on the dissemination and communication of the project results. The MOOC dissemination strategy was presented, outlining how AI2MED’s free online courses will reach thousands of learners across Europe. The partners emphasised the importance of not only making MOOCs widely available but also using them as long-term tools for building AI skills in healthcare.

A Multidisciplinary Perspective
On the second day, the partners actively participated in the national dissemination event “A Multidisciplinary Approach to the Application of AI in Life Sciences: How to Improve Safety and Outcomes”. This event brought together a broad community of researchers, healthcare professionals and technology experts to explore how AI is already being used in the life sciences.
The event emphasised the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration and demonstrated how AI can improve safety, support ethical practises and deliver better outcomes in healthcare and related fields. It was also an opportunity for AI2MED to connect its work to broader European and global conversations about the role of AI in shaping the future of medicine.

Shared Vision for the Future
Throughout the meeting, the spirit of collaboration was evident. Each partner contributed their expertise – from data science and AI ethics to medical education and innovation ecosystems – creating a rich dialogue that reflects the essence of AI2MED. The exchange of ideas confirmed that the project is not just about creating curricula and training materials, but also about fostering a European community ready to use AI responsibly in healthcare.
Looking to the future
At the end of the meeting, the partners left Naples with renewed energy and a strong commitment to the next phases of AI2MED. In the coming months, the consortium will finalise stakeholder engagement strategies, pilot innovative approaches and launch MOOCs and educational materials.
Against the backdrop of Naples, the AI2MED partnership reaffirmed its commitment to shaping the future of healthcare- a future where AI empowers professionals and improves outcomes for patients across Europe.
